How To Delete Hidden Files In DOS

Some files may not be seen of DOS command. Maybe its hidden by the administrator or the person who are using it. Hiding a file may have a reason. Sometimes you will hide because you don't want others to see it bcause its complicated, hiding it because you don't want others to discover it or hiding it because you have your black propaganda to that person (maybe a virus to that computer).

Well here is the simple steps in unhiding those files and delete it.



First, you have to go to START menu and click on the Run Command

Then type CMD or Command the press enter

Go to the drive where you want to.

Example: C:\users\admin

Then you want to look if the folder has a hidden file. Just type Attrib -H (H attrib will show all the hidden files in that particular folder)

Then the hidden files will be visible and from there you can delete it with the command DEL [filename you want to delete]

And your done.

How To Show Hidden Files

Here are the steps on how to show the hidden files in diffirent windows operating systems.


Show Hidden Files and Folders in Windows 7
This applies to all versions of Windows 7.
1.    Click the Start button
2.    Click Computer
3.    Double-click C: drive
4.    Click Organize
5.    Click Folders and search options
6.    Click View tab
o    Click to enable Show hidden files, folders, and drives
o    Click to disable Hide extensions for known file types
o    Click to disable Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) if you want to see system files
(click Yes if a warning dialog box appears)
o    Click the Apply button, and then click OK.
o    Click the Apply to Folders button if it's not greyed out.

Disabling Regedit

 DISABLING REGEDIT


  1.  To disable regedit access to all users in a domain open the Group Policy
    click on -
    User Configuration-> Administrative Templates-> System-> double click on
    "disable registry editing tools" and enable this policy.

    To disable on a local machine use MMC and open the group policy console
    and go to the same location.
2.
·         Click Start, Run, type gpedit.msc and click OK.
·         Navigate to User Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ System
·         Double-click the Prevent access to the command prompt

How To Enable and Disable Run Command

ENABLING AND DISABLING RUN COMMAND

Sometimes you are in the situation that you cannot find your run command at the start menu. After looking at the properties you'll find your self irritate because you can't find it. Well sometimes administrators hide the run command or even disabling it for their own protection. You just have to ask him first to let him allowed you. If your in this kind of situation here are some useful method to enable it again. 

Method 1: Using the console registry tool
·         Click Start, Run and type this command exactly as given below: (better - Copy and paste)

How To Know Your IP Address

Here are the steps on how to know your IP Address of your computer in different OS. Follow these steps only.



Windows 2000, XP:
Start/Run:
Enter in the command: cmd
At the command prompt enter in: ipconfig



Vista, WIndows 7:
Go to the command prompt by select the Windows logo and in the search box entering:
cmd
From the command prompt enter in the command: ipconfig

On Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, if you'd like to know your MAC address (physical hardware address of a your network card), at the command prompt you can enter the following command:
getmac -v



On Mac OS X:
1. Click on the Mac logo on the top left of the screen.
2. Open System Preferences
3. Under Internet and Network, click 'Network'
4. Select which adapter, such as AirPort or Ethernet.
5. Select TCP/IP and you'll see your IP address.. If you receive a dynamic IP address from your internet provider, it will likely be different on your next session. So if you need your IP address for later use, please check when you log on for that session.
